Ronnie Carrington is a leading Barbadian photographer, and producer/director, who is known for his stunning, thought-provoking black and white images.
His work chronicles Barbadian folk life and landscape during the last quarter of the 20th century and will ultimately be of immense historical value.
Ronnie has the knack of being able to creatively capture the light, the perspective, and the human interest which transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.
He has documented many aspects of life in Barbados and the wider Caribbean on film and video, and has been a photographic exhibitor and judge nationally and internationally.
His work appears in magazines, on calendars, and on his own line of greeting cards. He regularly teaches photography courses at national and regional institutions as well as privately, and has the honour of producing the official portraits of two of the island’s Prime Ministers.
Ronnie is the CEO of Carrington Photo-Creations & Corporate Imaging, companies that produce visual communications material. He has served on the boards of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation and the National Cultural Foundation of Barbados. He has also served on judging panels for the Pan American Health Organization’s media awards for excellence in Health Journalism and the Caribbean Broadcasting Union media awards.
During March 2007 Ronnie was invited to be a guest lecturer aboard the cruise liner "The World" on the Caribbean leg of its round the world itinerary.
